Shannon Duchaine
​Certified Recovery Coach

Shannon moved to Vermont in 2022 after relocating from Southern Massachusetts, where she was born and raised. Shannon is a person in long-term recovery from Alcohol Use Disorder and is a Psychiatric Survivor. After attending and graduating college with a BA in Psychology and English, Shannon decided she wanted to support individuals as they navigate their recovery surrounding mental health and substance use disorder. She saw how important receiving peer support was to her own recovery, and began working as a peer support specialist with a focus on mental health supports as well as supporting people navigating co-occurring mental health and substance use recovery.

​Shannon received her Massachusetts Certified Peer Specialist certification from KIVA Centers, which is based in Worcester, MA. Since, she has supported people in various settings, including in outpatient, crisis stabilization/respite, and in the Emergency Department. She has provided individual peer support, and also has experience facilitating recovery groups. She is passionate about providing trauma-informed care and believes in all pathways to recovery, and she personally finds this work extremely rewarding. Shannon is currently enrolled in the Recovery Coach Academy and is pursuing being a Certified Recovery Coach in Vermont. Shannon finds joy in her relationships with her friends and family, in being a fiancée and a bonus mom to two young children. Shannon also enjoys reading, crocheting, and has had a lifelong love of video games and trading card games.
